Actual and red flag knowledge
Melon Sandbox acts expeditiously when it obtains actual knowledge of infringement or becomes aware of facts or circumstances from which infringing activity is apparent.
Valid notice requirements
A valid notice must identify the copyrighted work, the reported material, the exact URL or Content ID, contact details, good-faith statement, accuracy and perjury statement, and physical or electronic signature.
Expeditious disablement and review
For facially valid copyright notices, Melon Sandbox may disable access to the reported material expeditiously, aiming for 24 hours where feasible, while completing final review within the published SLA.
Counter-notice
Affected users may submit a counter-notice with jurisdiction and service-of-process consent. If the claimant does not confirm court action within 10 to 14 business days, eligible content may be restored.
Repeat infringers
Copyright strikes are tracked separately from general Terms of Service strikes. Repeated unresolved copyright strikes may lead to account restrictions or termination.
